Marketing agencies for trade firms with two or more vans
Once you've got a second van and a lad or two on the books, marketing stops being about keeping yourself busy and starts being about keeping everyone busy. That changes what you need from an agency. Here are six UK firms that pitch at that stage, with the published facts on each so you can judge them cold.
Why the second van changes the brief
A sole trader needs the phone to ring. A firm with two or three vans needs it to ring predictably, with the right kind of job, in the right postcode, so the diary stays full without you quoting every evening. That usually means paid ads or serious local SEO on top of a website, and a proper system for tracking what each lead cost.
So the comparison below leans on four things: does the agency guarantee anything, what's the fee model, is there published proof with real trades, and how much of your time will it eat? We've left out the pure website shops; if that's what you need, the best-value trade website builders covers them.
Order here is loosely cheapest and most proven first, but read the fit notes. Several of these are built for very different sizes of firm.
1. ServiceLeads
Best for: High-ticket trades wanting Meta leads with a guarantee and a flat fee
ServiceLeads, founder-led from Cornwall and working UK-wide, runs Meta ads only. The management fee is a flat £750 a month with ad spend paid direct to Meta, and it offers a 30-day guarantee of a set number of qualified homeowner enquiries or no management fee. You own the ad account.
Headline trade is kitchen fitters, with roof repair, windows and other high-ticket local services also listed. It designs the offer and lead-form qualification, plans the funnel, tests creative weekly and feeds back on lead quality. It publishes anonymised results with cost-per-lead figures.
For a two-van firm doing £10,000 jobs, a guaranteed enquiry count for a known fee is an easy sum to run. For emergency or low-ticket trades, Meta is usually the wrong channel.
2. Home Improvements Digital Marketing
Best for: Established renovation and extension builders, particularly in Scotland
Run by Ben Laing, with case study clients in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Fife, Home Improvements Digital Marketing sells a full system for established builders: SEO, Google Ads, authority video content, multiple conversion-focused websites, social, reputation management, lead filtering and monthly strategy and reporting.
It explicitly rejects the promise of high volumes of random leads in favour of quality enquiries, which is the right instinct for extension builders who can only take on so many jobs a year. Packages are tiered done-for-you; names are visible but prices aren't.
Published results are revenue-growth style for renovation and extension builders, an asbestos firm and a loft and garage conversion company. It works with kitchen and bathroom fitters and multi-trade companies too.
3. Local Leads Accelerator
Best for: Electricians and small trades wanting map-pack visibility plus missed-call automation
Local Leads Accelerator's line is 'clicks don't pay the bills, jobs do'. It measures cost per booked job rather than rankings, and blends local SEO and map pack work with Google Local Services Ads, conversion-focused websites, missed-call text-back and automated follow-up, lead tracking and a 12-week programme.
Electricians are the primary trade, with joinery and carpentry, cleaning, waste removal and exterior services also covered. Case studies are before-and-after rankings for a cleaning business and a carpentry business, in Manchester and Kent. Pricing isn't published.
The missed-call text-back matters once you have staff: a call missed by one van gets texted back while the office sorts it. More on why that's a bigger deal than most firms admit in the missed call problem nobody talks about.
4. JDR Group
Best for: Home improvement companies with a showroom and a sales team
JDR Group in Derby calls itself the UK's leading inbound agency for home improvement businesses and a top HubSpot partner. It grew out of business coaching and offers inbound and content marketing, SEO, Google Ads, paid social, email automation, HubSpot CRM implementation, web design, CRO and sales training.
Target trades are kitchen and bathroom designers, window and door specialists, garden room providers, landscapers, hot tub companies, renewable installers and builders. Case studies include traffic and revenue results for a B2C home improvement company. Pricing guides are linked but no figures are shown.
This is for the firm that's already past two vans and wants a CRM, a sales process and a content engine. A three-man roofing outfit will find it heavy.
5. Roofing SEO Services (SEO Consultancy Ltd)
Best for: Multi-van roofing firms wanting to own a town on Google
Roofing SEO Services, run by Dr M Mansoor Siddique in East Ham since 2012, works with roofers only. It publishes monthly packages from £499 to £2,599 depending on local competition, with no setup fee, rolling monthly on 30 days' notice and the client keeping all assets.
One roofer per town is written into the agreement. Services cover Google Business Profile and map pack, local SEO with postcode town pages, citations, UK link building, technical SEO, review management and call and form tracking. It reports on booked jobs. Case studies are anonymised rankings results.
For a roofing firm with three vans that wants to lock a town down, the exclusivity clause is the attraction. We've written a fuller profile in who is Roofing SEO Services.
6. One Base Media
Best for: A full-service benchmark with the widest trade coverage
One Base Media, based in Leigh-on-Sea and founded in 2012, is the most established trades-only agency in the UK by its own account, claiming to have helped over 1,000 local trades businesses. It offers web design, SEO, Google Ads, exclusive lead generation and branding, on one monthly payment with no contracts. Specific prices sit on a separate pricing page.
Trade coverage is wide: roofers, landscapers, driveways, plumbers, heating engineers, drainage, builders, loft conversions, solar, electricians, double glazing, plasterers, joiners, tree surgeons and kitchen and bathroom fitters. It publishes a large case study library and free educational content on YouTube and a podcast.
It's the name most growing firms will already have heard of, which makes it a useful yardstick when judging a quote from anyone else.

Deciding as a firm, not a one-man band
Big-ticket domestic jobs and a budget for ad spend? ServiceLeads is the cleanest bet on paper because the fee and the guarantee are both in writing. Extensions and renovations with a longer sales cycle? Home Improvements Digital Marketing or, if you want a CRM and sales process too, JDR Group.
Electricians and similar trades who want to show up on Maps and stop missing calls, Local Leads Accelerator. Roofers who want a town to themselves, Roofing SEO Services. If you want one agency to do everything and you'd rather go with the biggest name, One Base Media.
Before you sign with any of them, set a monthly figure using how much a tradesman should spend on marketing and insist on cost per booked job as the number you review each month. At two vans and up, that's the only number that matters.
Frequently asked questions
How is marketing different once I have staff?
You're buying predictability rather than any work at all. That means tracking cost per job, choosing postcodes deliberately and having follow-up systems so no enquiry depends on one person's phone.
Should a two-van firm run Google Ads or Facebook ads?
Google tends to suit urgent or search-led trades like plumbing, roofing repairs and electrics. Meta suits big-ticket considered purchases like kitchens, extensions and windows. Several agencies here specialise in one or the other for that reason.
What's a fair monthly budget for a three-van trade firm?
As a worked example, a firm turning over £400,000 a year spending 3 to 5 percent would budget £1,000 to £1,700 a month including ad spend. Your own margins and job values should drive the figure.
Do any of these agencies guarantee leads?
ServiceLeads guarantees a set number of qualified enquiries in 30 days or waives its fee. Roofing SEO Services guarantees town exclusivity rather than lead numbers. The rest make no stated guarantee.
